Dr. AlKhouri’s educational background is deeply rooted in biomedical sciences, possessing a doctorate degree in cell and molecular biology from Colorado State University. Her industry career commenced in 2006 at Millipore, where she significantly contributed to the development and commercialization of several pivotal products.

Dr. Kapila Kumar is an accomplished and devoted Associate Professor with a strong background in education management. Her experience and expertise span several specialized areas including Molecular Virology, Synthetic Biology, Genomics, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology, making her a valuable asset to the academic community.

Dr. Kumar’s educational journey is grounded in Human Genomics, having earned her Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from the prestigious Panjab University, NCHGSR. Her focused studies have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of human genetic systems and their implications in health and disease.

Recently, Dr. Kumar has further honed her skills by venturing into Synthetic Biology, an emerging field that integrates biological science with engineering principles. She received training from notable institutions such as Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), and Pondicherry University under a programme sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), GoI. This additional training highlights her dedication to continuous learning and adaptability to the rapidly advancing landscape of life sciences. She is actively engaged in Synthetic Biology projects with iGEM and Govt. of India.
